  • Fulfilling Your Vision Mission Statement

    As Featured On EzineArticles.com

Do you really believe in the vision you conceive? Your mission statement you created, do you do it for the sake of doing it because you read it somewhere you need a mission statement to complete your vision?

You have to feel the vision. If you can feel it in your blood then that is a vision that you are truly motivated to do it. A real vision will bring you inner joy in your heart, like a baby in a pregnant woman. Your unborn vision will kick you and bring you little excitement just like a pregnant mother feels in her tummy.

Your friends may not understand you, mistaken you in some ways for your stupidity in believing in your vision but deep in your heart, you can feel the heartbeats of your vision. Like a rushing flood, rushing your blood and get your whole body excited, you can feel the tingle in your skin. Truly you have an unborn vision waiting for you to give birth.

The next thing to do is to find the right people to help you. One very important step is to find a suitable mentor that have the knowledge or experience to help you achieve your goals. Having a mentor is like going to a foreign country with a local tour guide. You may have one or more, depending on the scale of your project.

You need to build a support group, the inner circle of friends, like the night of the roundtable. This is the group that will support and motivate you until you fulfill your vision. Find people that are close to you and can be fully trusted. It has to be people with different skill set to compliment you. Things you are not familiar with, they are the one that will hold your hands firmly to help you. Choose wisely. This is the the circle of friends that will help or break you.

After choosing your team, the inner circle of friends, you need to craft out a plan in detail and how you can fulfill it with your available resources and with the support from circle of friends. At this stage you may want to add a few more trusted friends or remove from it. Get your mentor to be involved, show him your proposal if you have. Redraft your plan based on his commentary and show the redrafted copy to circle of friends for more stringent comments. Redraft until you are satisfy and your skin tingle again.

Every plan needs to spend money or some kind of resources, be it money, time or special skills. Based on my experience, you have to make provision, allocate at least three times the resources you need. For example, you want to start a business and need a capital of ten thousand dollars. You have to have at least thirty thousands in reserve. You never know what will happen when you start executing your plan. Without three times or more than the projected resources, go back to your planning table again.

Time to take action now, unleash you passion, get your hands dirty, make the phone call if you have too. Do whatever you need to get it started and going. Set yourself a time frame for evaluation. Approach your mentors and circle of friends periodically. Create the synergy to get yourself highly motivated and in tip top condition so that you will not lose your focus on the vision mission statement.

At this stage you are going through the labour of pain. Take heart, press forward, the time will come and you will see your vision mission statement fulfill.

  • Creating a Vision and Making it a Reality

    As Featured On EzineArticles.com

Everyone dreams. It is the only thing in life that is free. However, most people are just stuck on their dreams and are not stepping up to live it. If you are already tired of just dreaming, then you have to start creating a vision. If you have a concrete vision of your life, you will be able to fulfill that dream in no time.

What are the steps to creating a vision? What is your most important dream? When you are determining your dream, make sure that it is something that you are passionate about so that it can be attainable.

Create a vision. Once you have determined your dream, create a vision statement like “a vision to serve the country by giving back”.

Imagine the dream. They always say that when you believe, you actually become. So, visualize your self fulfilling that dream. Imagine the life you will lead if you have fulfilled that dream or vision.

What are the effects? After your dream has been fulfilled, imagine the after effects of it. What will happen to your life after the dream was fulfilled?

Make a plan. Now, it is time to make a plan. Organize your thoughts and think of the ways wherein you will be able to make this vision attainable.

Take action now. You can have the greatest vision in the world but if you do not take action and fulfill it, it is as good as day dreaming. Do not procrastinate. Take action now.

Always remember that everything is possible in life if you just believe. But believing is not the only thing that is important. You should create that vision and that dream into reality as well.

  • How to Write Mission Statement That Will Inspire You and Others

    As Featured On EzineArticles.com

Mission statements are usually just for organizations and establishments like schools and companies. However, if you want to have your own mission statement in life, you can do it too. A statement is like your motto in life that will lead you to greater heights. If you are ready, here are some tips on how to write a good one.

Which is the most important thing to you? In a person, there are so many aspects of life. So, before writing your statement, get a pen and jot down the things that are important to you. Example, love, family, school, career, business, friendship, religion and so on. After writing it all down, rank now which one is the highest and which one is the lowest.

Write a statement for each. Once you have ranked all the important aspects of your life, you are now ready to write a mission statement for each aspect. Make it short and simple. For instance, if your most important aspect is about your family, you can write “to have a loving relationship with my family until the next and the next generation”.

Combine it all together. Once you are done with number two, look at your short and simple missions, which ones are really good or important missions? Combine all the missions together to make one cohesive statement for your life.

When you have written your mission statement, it will inspire you to fulfill what you have convey in your statement and your life will be different. And then you can tell and inspire other people about how to write mission statement.

  • 东北之冬 Winter Tour 2007

    Backpacking In Nanjing

My long awaited campaign, Winter of Dongbei, my winter tour, which I had postponed a year ago because of health reason. This was my third winter of my life and second time seeing snow flakes falling from the heavenly sky.

I spent my winter tour in this town called Heihe (黑河) in the province of Heilongjiang (黑龙江). This town was located north of Heilongjiang, one of the border-crossing town between Russian and Chinese.

I set off my journey from Hongkong to Shanghai to transit to Haerbin (哈儿滨). A friend of mine knew that I was in the region contacted me and I took a six hours train to Nanjing, north from Shanghai, to meet up with her.

I visited Nanjing for four days and left for Harebin. The train took about 28 hours to reach Harerbin. I spent a night in the city and left for Hegang (鹤岗) to meet some friends. I spent two nights in here before I went to my final destination, Heihe.

Heihe was a small isolated town. Transport system to the town was not comprehensive. It took me quite a while travelling to a few towns to get the right stations that take me to Heihe. God is good. I managed to travel smoothly and less waiting time during transit. Travel to places like these and in an unpredicted weather, if you missed the transport, you might wait for another day or two.

Many people asked me why was I doing in such a remote condition. Three reasons, I want to ski, I want to learn Russian as my forth language and my annual personal retreat.

I cancelled my skiing trip because i felt over slippery ice on the roads consecutively for three days. The third fall really put my body in a very bad physical condition. My buttock was bleeding and my waists was hurt badly. In fact I rested three days before i moved again.

I had signed up for my Russian language class and hope to start blogging in Russian soon.

Most important of all for this winter tour was my personal retreat. Last year retreat I had charted my next decade plan, (The World Is my Home). This retreat was to evaluate on my vision and goals. Living in solitude then I could reflect upon my life, refocused on my vision if i had deviated. Whatever was out of alignment, I would tune it back, just like tuning my guitar strings.

  • 2007: Year Of The Pig

Year Of The Pig Backpacking In Dongbei

    2007: A Good Start

I am looking forward to the end of the year of the pig because I am expecting this is a good year for me. I have a good start for the year although things are slowing down now, I am maintaining the momentum of my life. I will accelerate everything as much as possible to shorten my ten-year plan.

    2007: What Have I Accomplished

The only goal I do not complete last year is , writing the book. Now this goal is number one on my priority list.

There is nothing much for me to reflect and plan for this year. Nothing much to blog about my thoughts and decisions. My master plan, my goals, and so forth, I have already sort them out during my last two years. This year is all about action, action and action. Focus on it and execute.

    2007: The New Year

I am looking forward to the end of year to see what I have accomplished. May my Jehovah Jireh be with me.

  • Why I Don’t Work Anymore

I just want to work no more! Why work when I can save more without working? I used to run my own businesses and make a lot of money but I also spend a lot too. The more I work the more money I make and the more things I buy and in the end I also get into what we call the rat race.

Then as age is catching up and I am getting tired of being a racing rat, I lost myself, I lost my spouse, I lost my health. I lost my God. The most important of all is, time. I lost time. To make more money I just want to work, I allocate more time to making money and I end up having lesser time for other activities.

This is when I start to think when I break up with my spouse. With so much money I make and so little time for her, I lost our relationship. This event is very devastating to me. It takes me three years to resilient from it.

During my resilient years, I start to rethink about my life and re-evaluate my financial goals. Then I go through my books and study my expenses. I realise the more I work, the more I spend. For every one thousand dollars I earn, I spend one thousand two hundreds. So I decided not to work anymore. I don’t want to be a boss or an employee anymore because my massive income cannot upkeep with my expenditure.

I consolidate my wealth and redesign my whole life again. Three years later, which is today, I make money works for me and I have the whole world in my hand again. Now everyday I have the time to do what I want to do. I have the time to waste without worrying for tomorrow.

Last time, taking public transport is a waste of time because time is money. Now is a leisure, a pastime, a sight-seeing trip. I enjoy taking public transport now, feeling the pulses of life, hearing the melodies of life. I have gain back my life freedom. I can now do what I want to do.

When I just want to work no more, I have so much time at hand, I have the time to think, to plan, to decide. When opportunities knock on my door, I have the time to respond and not let opportunities pass away. I have the time to grab it. Is this what those seminars call the “financial freedom”? Have I attain it?

Where I am today is not by chance or luck. It is a lot of hard works and commitment to plan my destiny and with tremendous pain and focus to execute it. Where I am today take me ten years to achieve it. I chart my life when I am nineteen. I look glamourous among my peers because of my present carefree lifestyle. Do you know how much I have sacrifice? Do you know how much painstaking experiences I go through? Now looking back, is it worth it?

Today, I am thirty. I am proud to be where I am today. I have attain the destiny of my life, vision and goals I have set my eyes upon, I have achieve it. Thank you God, for your grace and mercy.

This year, first of July, I chart my destiny again for the next ten years. I call it the Vision 40. 40 stands for where my life will be when I reach forty years old.

Looking at the momentum of my life, my acute focus in commitment and my past history of achievements, I think I should achieve my Vision 40 in the next five years instead of ten.

I have plan my life and live to the fullest. I just want to work no more! Have you?

  • Take Time To Rest

There were three wood-cutters. Matthew, Mark and Luke.

Matthew was a hardworking cutter who worked day and night. On the other hand, Mark worked for an hour and rested for ten minutes. Luke who was the laziest worked for ten minutes and took a break of ten minutes.

At the end of the day, they gathered together and see who had the most woods. Mark had the most woods after calculation.

Matthew: ”Why I worked so hard and so many hours than you and yet you had more woods than me?”

Mark: ”During my rest, I sharpened my axe”

After a year of resting, I recovered from my mental breakdown. Now I was more acute then I was before. Ever since I started joining the workforce and taking the responsibility of adulthood, life was getting weary as years went by. Sitting down and looking back my past achievements, it was a relieve that I came this far but not worth the sacrifice i had made to achieve what I had today.

During my sabbath year, I really rested my whole being. I took my time to renew my life, my missions, my destiny, etc. I took the time to evaluate my goals I had set ten years ago and set new goals for my next decade. My body was weak and I took the time to get back my health by losing weight, keeping fit and healthy diet. Now my body was in good condition again to accept new challenges in life.

My Sabbath year was ending soon and my whole being was energized again. Now, time for me to step out, step up, and conquer the world again.

So when was the last time you took a good break?

  • 2006: Year Of The Dog

    2006: Year of the Dog
What will this year be for me? Another disastrous year? Only the end of the year will I know. Now, I am going to chart my own destiny, fight the good fight and recover all that I have lost.

    2006: Genesis
2006 will be the beginning of a renew hope. The hope that will sustain me to live on and fulfil my destiny for the next 10 years.

    The goals are:
    1. Complete writing the book and publish by 2006.
    2. Blueprint my retirement at 40.
    3. Learn a third language. (elective)

I hope to complete writing the book by this year. Lot of research on the topic need to be done and sort out my chaotic thoughts before I penned.

Where will I be in life when I am 40. This is the important question for the next chapter of my life. Now like 10 years ago, another year of solitary life, living in solitude help me think clearly of what I want in life, how I want to live, what I want to accomplish and my thoughts will not be influenced by peer pressure.

Finally shalom has come to me, now everything come together in one harmony, writing the book and charting the next chapter of my life, all on the subject of decision-making.

If I have time left, I wish to learn a third language to broaden my linguistic anthropology. So should I take up Russian or Arab? Or should I polish up my Greek I learn twelve years ago?

I think these goals are good enough to keep me busy for the year. Well! It is time for me to get my world revolving again.

Here I wish all Chinese a happy and prosperous dog year.

    Godspeed to all.
