  • Investing In Eco Friendly Bags

    For the past few months, I had been negotiating and making deals, trying to get back into the IT business. I chanced upon people that made SSD (Solid State Disk) and Netbook. After few months of negotiation, My partners and I decided that this might not be a good venture because many terms were not in our favour and the business opportunities could not yield to our ideal revenue forecast.

    It was sad to drop the whole plan but I had to since it was not a profitable business.

    So now, I might be back to jump start my non-woven venture, manufacturing eco friendly bags, the business plan before I chanced upon the SSD and Netbook opportunities.

  • Fish Farm Investment Ceased

    Based on unfavourable forecast, I decided to cease the investment till better outlook. It will take me, estimated four to six months to withdraw the fund.

    I had reached my maximum investment, SGD$100,000 for the fish farm. As of today, I have stop additional funding until further notice.

    As of 1 May 2007, I ceased my involvement with the online casino. I am reclaiming my time and rededicating it for other projects.

  • Gaming Asia (Executive Summary)

    Executive Summary
    London is the centre for the online gaming industry. There are 26 flotation in its stock exchanges in the recent years. The largest company among them is only 9 years old, yet has a market capitalisation of USD10 billions. The main credit goes to only one game, Poker, which retain customers very efficiently.

    East/Southeast Asia has 28% world GDP (North America 23% & Europe 26%). USA is currently the online gaming industry’s main market. Fast growing China will be the equivalent of USA in this region. Recent strong online Poker growth in the west has yet to come to this part of the world due to problems of payment, censorship, legality or lack of Asian insight. The Asian’s Poker gaming needs are high but are not properly satisfied with a sustainable model.

    Gaming Asia knows this region online gaming market well and has the solution to the problems. Western scalable models will be enhanced with Asian methodologies to achieve a long term solution. We will start with China as it is the biggest, fastest growing & relatively undeveloped. Player acquisition is currently inexpensive & may not remain so for long. Current competitors are restricted by the many problems and new competitors cannot sustain acquiring players at high prices.

    Our games will be based on a highly “portable” yet stable programming platform for its ease in making changes to satisfy players’ needs. New marketing programs can be swiftly implemented & it also allows us scalable deployments as we expand into other Asian countries beyond China.

    The management team is made up Chinese with entrepreneurship, marketing, programming, on-the-ground & guanxi-building (关系) abilities. We are based in different parts of the region. Being Chinese with different skills & backgrounds, we possess the necessary Asian insight to execute our plan successfully.

    Gaming Asia seeks £150,000 investment in exchange for common stock of 20% of total capitalisation. Offshore corporations will be formed to take into account the change in shareholders and shares allocated. This amount is sufficient for our subsequent 12 months of operation. Realistically, another round of £1 million financing is required to reach critical mass & positive cash flow.

    Gaming Asia had invested money, time and effort in the research for a successful online gaming market model in China over a 12-month period. We are absolutely confident and a strong believer in our business model to be the most viable option for a successful entrance into China.

  • Online Casino Update

    We are now in the second phase of beta testing, integrating video support to our site. Things are going slow for us but we are getting the results we are expecting.

    We are targeting to go live before Chinese New Year.

  • Chinese Tea Venture Ceased

    After six months of operation, we decided to cease operation.

    This lucrative traditional business is a good business. I have learn a lot about the trade and the art of Chinese tea drinking. However I think it is not suitable for me at the moment. I have decided to cease the business and withdraw my partnership, and to concentrate on my other projects.

  • Online Casino Launched

    In conjunction with my UME business, I had been secretly building an online gaming market, the online casino with my team since last October. This 13-month project finally went online this month.

    We now in the phase one, inviting beta testers testing out our servers and fixing bugs. Our casino was the first and only one, built using the Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Adobe Flash and Flash Communication Server, now known as Flash Media Server that allow multiplayer interaction.

    During the thirteen month of incubation, we spent lot of time studying the feasibility of penetrating the chinese market. Secondly we invested most of our resources to experiment the platform best suitable for us for deployment by developing nine different prototypes. After much testing, we decided to go with Adobe Flash, previously known as Macromedia Flash.

  • Unified Matured Entertainment (UME)

    A year ago, I have been touting the idea of doing the converging business of tour, gambling, sex and foreign-exchange (forex). This converging online gaming market that integrate tour, gambling, sex, and forex, I call it the Unified Matured Entertainment, UME.

    The business is nothing new to many people but the way these joint businesses are manage do not give the consumer the complete experience. By unifying all these businesses as one entity, the client experiences the unique enjoyment and in a protected environment.

    The purpose of such unified online gaming market is not to retain clients but to give clients a once a lifetime experience of what exotic leisure is all about. These kind of entertainment will only attract short term clients and there is no reason to retain their loyalty. A good reputation with satisfied clients will generate good referrals from them.

    Since the beginning of the year, I have trial different business models and meeting potential partners in the related industries. I have gone through a lot of case-studies and sort out many issues to establish firmly in this new business.

    I am almost done with my preparation and ready to launch on 1 November 2006 but I am hesitating to execute it because it is going to require a lot of my time and my commitment to baby-sit this new venture. For me to commit in this business, I will have to end my travel-the-world lifestyle to make this business a success.

    I hope to make a decisive decision by 1 December 2006.
