  • My New Macbook

    This Is My New Macbook

I have been using my MacBook for almost a month. In fact it is a good performance and portable notebook. However for a guy like me that have been using high performance and ultra portable computer, I need something small and powerful as my pervious PowerBook.

The machine that comes close to it now is MacBookPro. And of course MacBookPro is the successor of PowerBook. My problem of owning it, is the smaller size is 15” and is consider too big for me to travel around with it. Although there are rumors on the web that there may be a 12” MacBookPro, I will not put my hope in it.

I am not saying that MacBook is not a good machine. Another good fact is, Macbook runs Windows better and faster than any other Windows based machines. It is a computer above the rest of all IBM compatible computers. The only hardware that comes close to its performance is Compaq Armada series.

As for now, I am happy with my new MacBook.

  • Gaming Asia (Executive Summary)

I have publish here, the executive summary of the online casino project we are pioneering for the online gaming market. The project name is Gaming Asia. If you are interested, I will email you the complete business plan for your perusal.
    Executive Summary
London is the centre for the online gaming industry. There are 26 flotation in its stock exchanges in the recent years. The largest company among them is only 9 years old, yet has a market capitalisation of USD10 billions. The main credit goes to only one game, Poker, which retain customers very efficiently.

East/Southeast Asia has 28% world GDP (North America 23% & Europe 26%). USA is currently the online gaming industry’s main market. Fast growing China will be the equivalent of USA in this region. Recent strong online Poker growth in the west has yet to come to this part of the world due to problems of payment, censorship, legality or lack of Asian insight. The Asian’s Poker gaming needs are high but are not properly satisfied with a sustainable model.

Gaming Asia knows this region online gaming market well and has the solution to the problems. Western scalable models will be enhanced with Asian methodologies to achieve a long term solution. We will start with China as it is the biggest, fastest growing & relatively undeveloped. Player acquisition is currently inexpensive & may not remain so for long. Current competitors are restricted by the many problems and new competitors cannot sustain acquiring players at high prices.

Our games will be based on a highly “portable” yet stable programming platform for its ease in making changes to satisfy players’ needs. New marketing programs can be swiftly implemented & it also allows us scalable deployments as we expand into other Asian countries beyond China.

The management team is made up Chinese with entrepreneurship, marketing, programming, on-the-ground & guanxi-building (关系) abilities. We are based in different parts of the region. Being Chinese with different skills & backgrounds, we possess the necessary Asian insight to execute our plan successfully.

Gaming Asia seeks £150,000 investment in exchange for common stock of 20% of total capitalisation. Offshore corporations will be formed to take into account the change in shareholders and shares allocated. This amount is sufficient for our subsequent 12 months of operation. Realistically, another round of £1 million financing is required to reach critical mass & positive cash flow.

Gaming Asia had invested money, time and effort in the research for a successful online gaming market model in China over a 12-month period. We are absolutely confident and a strong believer in our business model to be the most viable option for a successful entrance into China.

  • Microsoft Xbox 360

Two months ago, I signed up for SCV MaxOnline and got myself a Microsoft Xbox 360. It came with no game but with a twelve months subscription to Xbox Live.

I was impressed with the console. Impressed maybe because it had been a few years since I put my hands on a console. The graphic was good and the game I played was entertaining. I got my Xbox 360 connected to the internet to see what is it all about. Nothing fancy or may be I had not come to use the full potential of it.

I bought the console to Zhuhai and hope it will fill my boring time when I bored. When I got everything setup, the next thing I wanted to, was streaming video from Windows Media Centre to the Xbox 360.

I realised Xbox 360 games in Singapore were limited and expensive. Hmm… perhaps it was time for me to mod my console.

  • Sony Ericsson K800i

Finally I got myself a Sony Ericsson K800i. I have waited for three years for a phone like this.

I think this phone is going to to be with me for the next three to five years.

This phone has all the features I need. This integrated camera phone will replace my digital camera, ipod and Moto L6. This combo compact device will ease my travel because i can now carry less power adapter and travel lighter when I am on the move. All I have to do now is make sure my K800i is fully charge so that when I am on the move I can use the phone to it full potential.

I am really impress with this phone. It is perfectly engineered and really demonstrated Sony’s miniaturisation technology. Or perhaps, I have not be upgrading phone for the past few years, so when I get a phone like this, I am overwhelm.

This phone is good. The voice quality is clear. The speaker is loud and clear when i playback songs. The keypad is comfortably good to press. The pictures taken from the camera is fantastic.

I am very please with it except for a few hiccups. The video player cannot rewind or fast forward the video. The Bluetooth range do not seem to be up to my expectation. It cannot isync with my OS X. I have to get a third-party plug-in. Lastly it do not come in white colour to match my Mac experience.

It is time to try out the 3G capability on this phone.

  • MOTO SLVR L6

Finally I had retired my SonyEricsson T630. This phone was very faithful to me and I loved it very much. One of the best mobile phones I ever used.

Few days ago, I had replaced it with the Motorola SLVR L6. I had difficulty using it because of the user interface different from SonyEricsson. I believed I would get used to it soon.

Personally I was not really satisfied with the phone. The battery power could not last longer than my expectation. The speaker would not produced good sound quality if the audio was of low quality. The LCD screen looked cool and bigger but display quality not even closed to my present T630. Keypad too small to press comfortably and created a lot typo errors.

The software was customised for China Mobile. Meaning i had some standard features were not available to me, like my softkey function was disabled.

The only cool feature of the phone was, the sensory keypad. It would detect if there was enough light to see the keypad, if not it would light up. The main reason why i bought the phone was, it was a bimbo phone. My set was bundled with an additional battery and desktop charger.

And to shock everybody, i bought a pink one.
