  • My MacBook Pro Live In NAC 2007

Macintosh Laptops - My MacBook Pro Live In NAC 2007

This year my job was doing powerpoint presentation. Still another on-the-fly job and with the same team but this time I teamed with Eddie. Using one of my Macintosh laptops, my MacBookPro was used to do presentation on the three big screens. I was glad that the dual display on my mac did not fail me and yet the audio-video functionality was far better IBM-compatible machine.

Although it was another long sleepless stressful event, we had lot of fun too. We joked together while working on our tedious tasks. This year was a ten-day event, running the show from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore and straight into another four-day event, World Internet Mega Summit.

  • Canton Fair 2007

    Canotn Fair 2007
Went to the Canton Fair, China, Guangzhou, This year nothing spectacular but actually kind of disappointed. The exhibition centre was as big as before but lot of items I was looking for were not exhibited. As usual, the exhibitors were not interested selling to us until I started speaking in English.

At the registration place, I was not very welcome when I was in the process of registering. The staffs were chatting away in their own dialect. They served the westerners well and promptly but when came my turn, I was kind of ignored and I had to take initiative to query about my registration. When processing my application, these staffs were gossiping about me in their dialect. Then when they looked at my registration, they realised that I was multilingual. By then, it was too late to save their embarrassment.

  • My Powerbook Live In NAC 2006

My Powerbook Laptop Live In NAC 2006
After all these years, my powerbook finally went live in front of a total of 8000 audiences for 4 days at the National Achievers Congress in KL and Singapore. It was scary to be part of the production team because everything was done in real-time and we had no room for mistake. On the production stage, I was glad to see all familiar faces I had worked with before including crews from Unusual Productions.

I was the DJ for the event. I had to arrange and use the right songs and music to flow with the live sessions. Everything was dynamic and we had to play-by-ear to flow with the event. Applications used were iTunes, Cleaner, Real Player and Quicktime. I was glad it was over and of course our production team had a great time too, although we were sleepless throughout the week.

This time I had the chance to work with a lovely girl, Shirlynn, from Penang office. She was sweet and smell good. She was the production head for this year NAC. Felt bad for screwing up the show at times, like playing the wrong music and did not play or sync at the right time with the sessions, and got her scolded by the boss.
