In Remembrance Of My Macintosh PowerBook

The time has almost come for me to retire my Macintosh PowerBook. I really cannot bear to let it go.

Although it gets weird once a while it has been faithful to me and my best travelling companion among all my portable devices.

I am replacing it with the new macbook.

In remembrance of my powerbook, I have taken pictures of it and exhibit here. So this page is dedicated to my powerbook for keeping me company during my solitary time.

  • My iFriends

    Friend at iShop

My last trip back to Singapore, I chanced upon the opportunity to work with Apple products. I was working in one of the authorised Apple Service Centre, providing Macintosh support and repair. It was a great experience to join the workforce again since I stopped working a few years back.

I learned a lot about Apple products, iPod, iTunes, iBook, iMac, and most importantly are my iFriends. iFriends are the people I worked with in the technical department.

Although it was a short attachment, I was very happy to work with the team because we shared our fun while serving our nasty customers. Although all of us came from different places and philosophies, we worked in unison to give Apple customers a unique Mac experience.

But sad to say, Mac customers suck! Just like Windows users. Because of all these sucky customers that where we found our fun and joy.

Keep up the good works my iFriends, the Macintosh support team. Without you guys, we would not have the unique Mac experience, Be Different!

  • Tiger Ass Sucks Again!

    Tiger Airway Flights Sucks Again!

My Tiger airway flights sucks again!

    Why? If you ask.

My Coke Light is up by fifty cents from two dollars to two dollars and fifty cents. Normally I would drink about four cans during the flight and cost me eight dollars. Now my cost is ten dollars.

And tigerairways.com online ticketing system sucks big time and I do not know why they win the XXXXXXX award. I do not know how the system works but the online pricing increases when the flight schedules are getting nearer to the dates. And the interface that displays the options for you to choose is not user-friendly.

And for this trip, my ticket fare is as expensive as flying with Singapore Air.

One thing that satisfy me this trip are the cabin crews. They are the prettiest group I ever seen. My favourite crew is Stephanie Huang.

    Channel U programme, 代你看世界代你看世界

Today I submitted my application for the Channel U’s Adventure Clicks.

“What’s that?” I also do not really know. I think is something like the Amazing Race plus Ed TV kind of tour show, where the audience will dictate the hosts to run all over the earth like monkey with hi-tech gadgets that allow remote blogging and so forth?

I have applied and hope to be selected to be one of the monkeys and make this Channel U program part of my ‘The World is My Home’ campaign.

In the application form, I am ask “why choose me”. I say, I am the best and I meet all the criteria.

Why I am the best? Because I meet all the criteria and I have the x-factor for such programme.

The three criteria for the show are:

    1. You must be able to converse in Mandarin. No problem for me, Mandarin is the ‘in’ thing now.

    2. Have an interesting character, a mind of your own, an adventurous attitude and inquisitive mind. No problem too. Since I always have a mind of my own, why not let me be the producer of the show. How about let me select my own production crews too. So me and my team will produce alternative TV show that will capture high viewership.

    3. Being technology savvy with the latest communicative electronic gadgets would be advantageous. If I am a host for this show, I am gonna get my own sponsors. Will get myself Sony Ericsson to sponsor me M600i and K800i for photography, communication and tacit collboration. I will also get Apple to sponsor my team, MacbookPro and iPod to get our stuffs done. I will also get designer wears like, Nike for our entire attire for the trips.

So now, let wait for an interview by TCS. Or is it now call Media Corp? What a lame name!

  • Why I Like To Eat Kidney Beans

My Secret Love Recipes With Kidney Beans

GF: Dear, do you know what is this call?

    ME: Bean loh!

GF: Ya! What kind of bean?

    ME: Err… big red bean?

    GF: No! Guess again?

    ME: Arr… I don’t know.

GF: Is call, kidney bean, dear.

That was how I knew this was called kidney bean. When I dated her, she loved to eat kidney beans. When we went for salad buffet, we would fill our stomach with a big bowl of it. That was how I began to like to eat kidney bean.

I got myself a big spoonful of the bean and while I was eating it, my heart suddenly felt lonely, wanted to cry and I thought of her again. I thought of the joy we shared together eating the beans, forked one bean at a time feeding one another. This is our love recipes with kidney beans.

  • Online Casino Launched

In conjunction with my UME business, I had been secretly building an online gaming market, the online casino with my team since last October. This 13-month project finally went online this month.

We now in the phase one, inviting beta testers testing out our servers and fixing bugs. Our casino was the first and only one, built using the Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Adobe Flash and Flash Communication Server, now known as Flash Media Server that allow multiplayer interaction.

During the thirteen month of incubation, we spent lot of time studying the feasibility of penetrating the chinese market. Secondly we invested most of our resources to experiment the platform best suitable for us for deployment by developing nine different prototypes. After much testing, we decided to go with Adobe Flash, previously known as Macromedia Flash.

Another phone I am eying on it, is this Sony Ericsson M600i. This is the business phone I want to have it in my possession if I am going to start my new business next month in Zhuhai, China.

This phone have all the features I need to give me the mobility to roam China freely by putting my office into this smartphone. I think M600i will let me run my business almost remotely while I am on the road.

I can’t wait to get my hands on it but what the use of owning this piece of superiorly engineered device if 3G network is not available in China now?

If 3G network is available, will M600i be able to work on China’s home-grown 3G network, TD-SCDMA?
